It seems as though whenever I log into Facebook or any other social media, I’m smacked in the face with engagement photos, wedding photos, and baby announcements. After a while, everything starts to look the same and I forget who’s getting married and who’s having kids–seeing as it’s all generic “Pinterest-y” kind of photos. When it comes to the ideal engagement photo shoot, some couples want to do something that reflects their relationship–a scene or place that is deeply personal and significant to both parties and that means something to them. While I can think of a ton of relevant places in my own relationship (bars, pizzerias, more bars), there are some couples who bond over the most relatable things–like, a shopping trip to Target. Michael Delvalle and Isabella Sablan decided that they were going to switch things up a bit and stray away from the traditional “field,” or “beach” photoshoots for their engagement photos and incorporate a staple of their lives–Target.
Michael and Isabella have been together for over eight years, after meeting in Miami working at a Hollister together. Although Miami is a beautiful destination for some typical beach photos, this fun couple decided to go a completely different route. Isabella told ABC News:
We probably go two to three times a week. We like long walks at Target instead of on the beach.
Michael agreed completely, saying:
When we needed something to do on a slow Thursday night, Target was always there with open doors. Even if we didn’t need anything, Target always knew what was best for us and it never failed to send us home without some sort of delicious treat, household good, or one of those beautiful red tag clearance items that now consume our entire home décor.
Apparently, the couple’s infatuation with Target is pretty well known, as the pair share a humorous Instagram account with over 4,000 followers called @cupsoftarget that features photos of abandoned coffee and drink cups at Target, giving them a funny backstory.
Clearly, this couple knows how to do engagement photos right, and, the pictures came out adorable. I’m sure their wedding registry will be filled with nothing but Target, Target and more Target. Congratulations, guys!
