The friendship between Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence almost seems like more of a publicist’s dream than an actual relationship — but the too-good-to-be-true two celebs are actually genuinely good friends.
The two are supposedly writing a movie together, and Lawrence was actually in attendance at Schumer’s secret Malibu wedding ceremony in February.
The two also hung out on a boat together in the Hamptons …
… and even danced in tandem on a piano at a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden.
Naturally, the public has been unreasonably invested in this platonic union, given the likability of both Lawrence and Schumer. “I feel like Brad Pitt being asked about Angelina. I get asked about Amy on all of these press tours, more than anything,” Lawrence once told Seth Meyers. “Which is great, because endorphins get released in my brain whenever I talk about her!”
And though the two haven’t been able to hang out much lately due to their busy schedules, they’re still tight — so much so that Schumer actually sent Lawrence a hilarious burn after her most recent breakup.
Jen had been dating director Darren Aronofsky for roughly a year when the two called it quits last October. In response to her friend’s breakup, Schumer decided to send a bouquet of flowers.
“When Darren and I first broke up. I told [Schumer] and I was really sad,” Lawrence told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. “The next day I got a bouquet of flowers delivered and I said, ‘What is this?’ I bring the bouquet of flowers in and there was a note that says, ‘I’m so sorry to hear you’re gonna die alone. Love, Amy.'”
Damn, Amy. That’s some cold (but really funny) sh*t.
Only a true BFF could get away with that move.
