If you’ve managed to avoid the newfangled “Laurel vs. Yanny” debate, I congratulate you wholeheartedly and advise you to continue doing so. If not, then you know the correct answer is “Laurel,” as demonstrated by the divisive clip below:
What do you hear?! Yanny or Laurel pic.twitter.com/jvHhCbMc8I

In the last 24 hours, celebrities have chosen sides. The Internet has not been this torn since the infamous “The Dress” debate — you know the one (it was blue and black, don’t @ me.) One such celeb is beloved chef, cookbook author, and Twitter comedian Chrissy Teigen.
Teigen hears Laurel.
Teigen’s mom also basically hears Laurel.
Teigen never wants to hear Laurel (or Yanni, or Yanny) ever again.
Mindy Kaling hears Yanny.
As we’ve already “reported” both are correct (it’s LAUREL.) Redditor Eike_Peace posits that the clip is “two different wavelengths and words that blend perfectly but your brain only detects one at a time.”
You can apparently hear both by adjusting bass levels (though this doesn’t seem to have any effect for the majority of Twitter.)

What do you hear? Did adjusting the bass work for you? Did you actually spend 10 minutes of your time trying to hear both words? Does anything in this world matter or are we just rushing onward with gathering speed towards our demise as a society and civilization?
