FLOTUS Melania Trump is one of the most cryptic First Ladies we’ve ever had. At times she seems to cut against the official Trump party line, like when she visited her husband’s kiddie prisons only to have her gesture undermined by some regrettable fashion choices. Other times she disappears completely, avoiding the limelight, as well as the many controversies swirling around Trump’s administration. This is one of the times the First Lady has chosen to insert herself into a debate, siding against her husband.
Last night, Trump saw two famous black men on television—Don Lemon and LeBron James—talking about James’ new public school for at-risk kids in Ohio. Rather than taking an opportunity to commend James for his generosity and investment in our future, he instead called both men stupid.
James’ school sounds like an exciting public policy experiment, promising to cover college tuition for graduates, assist parents who are looking for jobs, and even has an on-site food bank:

Plenty of people dunked on Trump for his fake charity efforts, disgusting child internment policy, and overall stupidity:
Don Lemon slapped back at Trump, calling him the “real dummy” and hashtagging First Lady Melania Trump’s ‘Be Best’ initiative against bullying:
Well, activating the FLOTUS signal worked! Melania Trump released a statement through her spokeswoman amidst the feud siding with… LeBron James:
Oh boy. After President Trump insulted LeBron James, Melania Trump issues a statement saying she’s open to visiting the school he just opened in Ohio. pic.twitter.com/t0eJ4oDrxq

“It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation and just as she always has, the First Lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today. As you know, Mrs. Trump traveled the country and world talking to children about their well-being.” it reads.
FLOTUS is even offering to visit James’ new school, something sure to piss her husband off. “Her platform centers around visiting organizations, hospitals and schools, and she would be open to visiting the I Promise School in Akron,” the statement says.
It’s unclear if James—who said he wouldn’t sit across from Trump when asked what the star player would say to him—extends the same policy to his wife. The ball is James’ court now and it would be a hell of a thing if FLOTUS gave him the assist in one last dunk on our Racist-in-Chief.
